The people that were doing the auditions with the African Children’s Choir came to my church and they were looking for children that could sing. Because I was active in Sunday school, I was chosen to be in the very first African Children’s Choir in 1984.
I was 12 in a small Baptist church when the pastor made it very clear that a decision needed to be made to accept Jesus and to follow Him. It was a very sincere commitment to surrender my life to Jesus when I was 12.
I was 16 when my father died. He had just come back into my life and I was crushed. I started to question a lot of the things I thought I knew about God. I started to veer off course and make bad decisions.
Why Your Faith Story Matters
You may think you don’t have a faith story. You may even feel it’s not worth telling. We believe that your faith story matters. Why?
Sharing your faith tells the story of your relationship with Jesus and how God has blessed your life. Sharing your faith blesses others with similar life experiences. Your faith story is welcome here!
Our mission is to help ordinary Christians become comfortable sharing personal faith stories. We believe a relationship with Jesus has blessed our lives and that Jesus calls us to reach out to the least, the last, and the lost in the world. We also wish to help guide seekers and non-Christians to a relationship with Jesus by sharing the faith stories of ordinary Christians. In addition to the resources posted on this website, we offer workshops and conference retreats for youth and adults interested in sharing their faith stories.
Share Your Faith Story
Most people have a vague idea of what they believe. Writing or recording your faith story helps bring clarity to your faith journey. Pat didn’t even think she had a faith story until she wrote it down.
Hearing from someone with a similar story can help others overcome their own obstacles. Through faith, Matthew conquered a life of addiction and is now speaking publicly to others struggling with substance abuse.
Telling your faith story can start conversations about how the love of Jesus connects us despite our differences. Namusobya founded an orphanage in Uganda in response to the plight of street children in her town.
Shine a Light
Your faith story shines a comforting light to others who are lonely, depressed, afraid, hungry, poor, homeless, sick, or in prison. Your story, like Becky’s, can light a path for others going through difficult times.
No Story Should Remain Untold
Jesus himself asked us to share the Good News of his love for us. Your faith story, whether simple or profound, is proof of that love. Your story may touch those, like Jane, who are seeking answers about whether Jesus is real.
Drawing and writing worksheets are provided to guide participants through a step-by-step process of writing concise personal testimonies. Let’s begin writing and sharing your faith story.
