Cylan Pierce

Hi, my name is Cylan Pierce, people call me Cy! I’m from the BeautifulYou team and I love ministering on that Facebook page. I think it really helps people not only hear the scripture but to also hear the explanation of it. We keep it short and simple! A little about myself… I’m a pastor kid and we moved around a lot growing up. I became home schooled in 5th or 6th grade. Back then I really struggled with finding who I was in Christ. I really didn’t live for God and did a lot of things at a young age I probably shouldn’t have.

One thing I really struggled with was when I became a Christian was people viewing me for who I used to be.

God has brought me so far and it’s only by him that I am where I’m at. One thing I really struggled with was when I became a Christian was people viewing me for who I used to be. It was really a challenge and hurt my ministry because people saw me for who I used to be before Christ. God gave me a new chance and a fresh start with moving to a new area. I love working in ministry. Music ministry is my passion. I travel and do music with worship teams. I love playing and traveling and really bringing people into the presence of God.

I’m excited to see where God takes me and how he uses me.

My favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your path.” It’s a great verse and reminder to put aside what you want and plan. And to fully trust God. This verse has helped me so much over the years and I’m excited to see where God takes me and how he uses me. If you can take one thing away, don’t let your past define who you are. Let go and let God!

I remember being in church and going up to the altar and crying. I was so tired of the life I was living. I needed help. I felt a sense of peace at that time and knew that if this Jesus thing can work for some of these other guys, then it can definitely work for me.

We built the first church with great difficulty. We went back to the States and the board asked us to become mission staff with the Outreach Foundation. That was 25 years ago, just about, and we’ve gotten more involved with Kenya as days and years went on.
